Susan has been involved in local church ministry for more than two decades. She and her husband, Tim, have church planted, pastored, and intentionally invested in the lives of leaders for years. Susan’s heart has always been to see ladies healed from past wounds and empowered to touch their families and communities. While she would describe herself as a “behind the scenes” kind of person, Susan’s gifts of hospitality and plain-spoken wisdom have opened doors to more public venues of ministry in recent years. She’s also excited about new opportunities to invest in the lives of ladies across the Northeast Atlantic District! Susan loves being a mom and wife, cooking, gardening, road trips, and rearranging furniture.
Hi, I’m Cheri! I love to challenge people to be full of the Holy Spirit and live whole-heartedly for God! With more than 20 years of pastoral ministry, I value people and believe in their divine purposes and destinies! I enjoy helping others do what they don’t want to do, so they become who they have always wanted to be. One of my favorite sayings is, “Love. Love. Love. Push a little!” I currently serve on the NEA district team as the District Missions Rep (DMR) and am thrilled to be a part of the NEA women’s leadership team, “Cultivate”. I also serve in my local church as the Executive Pastor where I has been on staff at Coastlands Community Church in Chesapeake, Virginia since 2002. I desire to be a genuine, influential voice that exhorts and inspires courageous change.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Northeast Atlantic Women’s Ministry Team [Cultivate], and I look forward to building relationships the ladies of Hub B. As we become friends, I hope to be a source of encouragement to you! I also will be facilitating times that we can meet with one another, because together we are stronger!
Being a woman in ministry leadership has enormous privilege! It also carries a fair share of disadvantages that sometimes manifest as self-doubt, trying to prove yourself, over achieving, and vacillating between feeling like Wonder Woman or the worst woman on earth! All pretty normal and laughable when you have a faith community of other women in ministry leadership to share with, bounce things off of, get some perspective and keep yourself in balance. I believe that the success of any woman in ministry leadership is largely dependent on finding those people for her life. My prayer is that we, here in the Northeast Atlantic District, could be that community for each other.
I am married to my best friend Jim. We are blessed to Pastor in Southwest VA. We have three awesome children (two of which are married). I love being a mom/mother-in-law and wife! Being a follower of Jesus Christ is my greatest honor! I am excited to be able to pray and encourage other Pastors/Pastor’s wives.
